Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Technician to join our team at HEP Services LLC. As an Automation Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and programming Plant Distributive Control Systems (DCS) and Programable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to ensure reliable, efficient, and safe operation of plant process equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair control systems, including DCS and PLCs, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Program and configure control systems software for various manufacturers, including Rockwell ControlLogix PLCs and Honeywell Experion PKS.
  • Support Operations and Engineering with troubleshooting and improving plant control system operation.
  • Monitor Critical Control Systems and address issues safely and with limited oversight.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve technical issues and maintain project files and folders.
  • Provide specifications and related input into capital and expense project planning.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Instrumentation and Controls Technology, Process Technology, or related field preferred.
  • One year or more of experience relating to control systems in a professional position, internship, apprentice, or co-op program preferred.
  • Knowledge of Cisco network devices, ISA Instrument Symbols and Identification, and Rockwell PLCs and Honeywell Experion DCS preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities.
Working Conditions

The Automation Technician will work in an industrial setting, which may include working with chemicals, hazardous products, processes, and materials. Exposure to loud machinery, moving mechanical parts, and adverse weather conditions may occur. The position requires the ability to work in confined spaces and climb ladders and/or stairs more than 50 ft.

The Automation Technician will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintain emotional control under stress. The position may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
