Responsibilities of the Paint Preparation Specialist

  • Thoroughly wash, clean, and prepare vehicles for painting.
  • Prime, block, and sand vehicle components prior to the painting process.
  • Appropriately mask, paper, or grease parts as necessary.
  • Utilize basic hand tools and small power tools for preparation tasks.
  • Ensure the condition of the vehicle or component is maintained throughout the painting process.
  • Adapt to various production areas as needed based on operational demands.
  • Safely identify, handle, and dispose of materials.
  • Exhibit attention to detail to meet quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to established procedures and regulations.
  • Understand and comply with waste management protocols, including storage time limits and emergency response procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members and the lead painter for additional responsibilities.

Qualifications Required

  • Prior experience in a Collision Center's Paint Department
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Ability to operate equipment for painting tasks
  • Basic computer skills
  • Enjoyment of a fast-paced work environment
  • Team-oriented with effective collaboration skills
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and procedures
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks
