Healogics is a leading provider of advanced wound care services in the United States, treating over 300,000 chronic wound patients annually across more than 600 sites. As an aging society faces rising obesity and diabetes rates, along with an increase in surgical procedures, the number of patients with non-healing wounds benefiting from expert care grows dramatically.
Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Wound Care Specialist. This role primarily involves providing patient care and handling intake and discharge processes for our Wound Care Center patients, as scheduled. The position may also serve as a Case Manager to a group of assigned patients, depending on the Wound Care Center setup.
Responsibilities- Provide patient care to Wound Care Center patients and handle patient intake and discharge processes according to hospital and nursing standards.
- Assist in the vein clinic as assigned after completing Healogics Vein Clinic training.
- Serve as Case Manager to a group of patients as assigned, performing initial nursing assessments, communicating findings with assigned physicians, assessing wound stage and measurements, documenting care plans, evaluating patient status regarding desired outcomes, and identifying patient care situations requiring intervention.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, provide education to patients or caregivers, and serve as a patient advocate in delivering and coordinating patient care.
- Perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy-related duties as assigned, upon completion of Healogics hyperbaric training.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, Wound Care Center Providers, Program Director, and Medical Director regarding clinic and patient needs.
- Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current RN license in the state of practice, to be maintained throughout employment duration
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Medical Surgical, Home Health, or Wound Care Certification preferred
- Wound care experience preferred
The estimated hourly rate for this position ranges between $33.32-$42.84 per hour, based on potential employee qualifications, including education, experience, geography, operational needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
