We are seeking a skilled Rheumatologist to join our team at South Shore Health. As a Rheumatologist, you will provide high-quality patient care and manage direct health care for a specified patient population.
Key Responsibilities- Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population.
- Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
- Refer patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
- Manage patient medications and prescribe appropriate medications as needed.
- Order and interpret laboratory studies, x-rays, and other diagnostic tests.
- Make referrals to other healthcare providers for comprehensive patient care.
- Establish a therapeutic patient-healthcare provider relationship.
- Direct and coordinate the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
- Document patient clinical activities clearly, concisely, and within the expected time frames as outlined in the Medical Records Completion and Documentation Policy.
- Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties assigned.
- Medical Doctor Degree; residency program
- State licensure, Board Certification or board eligible in area of expertise. Federal DEA license. ALS certification
- Preferably at least 3 years of directly related experience which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty
