Responsibilities:
The primary duty of the CNA is to ensure that residents receive compassionate care through various tasks, including:

Assisting residents with bathing, toileting, oral hygiene, skin care, grooming, nail care, and dressing needs.


Feeding residents, providing bedside hydration, offering snacks, and assisting with transfers to and from dining areas in accordance with their nutritional care plans.


Responding promptly to resident call lights and requests for assistance in line with facility policies.

Maintaining resident rooms by making beds, changing linens, cleaning bedside tables, and organizing personal belongings as necessary,


Observing and reporting any changes in residents' appetite, skin condition, or unusual behaviors in accordance with facility protocols.


Providing emotional support and actively listening to residents to help them build trust and foster independence in daily activities.


Ensuring the confidentiality of all residents and their care to protect their rights and privacy at all times.

Documenting medical records in accordance with facility policies for any vitals, assistance, etc., provided to residents.

Adhering to safety protocols, infection control measures, and maintaining a clean work environment.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:


Must meet specific educational and experience criteria, including: A high school diploma or GED, unless working under a student permit.

Certification by the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) as a CNA in good standing. CNAs transferring from other states may work for a limited time while awaiting Indiana certification. Graduating CNA students, not yet certified, may also work temporarily while awaiting certification.

Basic computer skills and familiarity with programs such as Excel and Word.

A solid understanding of safe and effective nursing practices within the State of Indiana.

Strong interpersonal skills, including: Assisting licensed nurses with procedures within the scope of practice for nurse aides;

The ability to follow written and verbal instructions, work independently, and make sound decisions when necessary;

Personal integrity and the ability to interact tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and staff;

The ability to collaborate effectively with both professional and non-professional personnel;

Judgment in prioritizing tasks, duties, and responsibilities according to established standards, policies, and procedures;

The ability to maintain discretion and protect the integrity of confidential information while adhering to Corporate Compliance and HIPAA regulations;

Patience, a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to assist residents at various maturity and physical levels;

Commitment to professional ethics, and

The ability to communicate information regarding a resident's condition to the appropriate staff members.
