We are currently seeking an Assistant Director of Financial Aid to support the packaging and administration of various financial aid awards, which include Federal Student Aid, institutional aid, Foundation aid, Kansas state aid, and institutional scholarships.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and manage the Financial Aid Operations, including the Packaging, Awarding, and Disbursement of Title IV (Federal Financial Aid).
- Ensure adherence to the National Student Loan Data Service (NSLDS), Common Origination and Disbursement (COD), and other Federal Regulations set by the Department of Education.
- Handle student work-study programs, respond to student inquiries, and manage data setup and retrieval for federal and state reporting.
- Reconcile accounts related to Title IV programs, including Grants, Loans, and Federal Work Study.
- Maintain and update financial aid public web content and literature.
- Administer all institutional scholarships and ensure proper reconciliation of scholarship accounts.
- Process and correct financial aid documents electronically in compliance with federal regulations.
- Verify documentation for all Federal Student Aid recipients and package aid accordingly.
- Assist with the origination and disbursement processes in line with federal requirements.
- Monitor Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) in accordance with ICC policies and federal regulations.
- Facilitate the placement of student employees in jobs on and off campus, adhering to Department of Education regulations.
- Train staff on the use of Ellucian Colleague and assist in resolving complex financial aid issues.
- Provide counseling to students and parents regarding available financial resources for attending ICC.
- Represent the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships in various committees and professional development opportunities.
Applicants should possess an Associate's Degree; a Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, student affairs, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of three years of experience in administering federal, state, and institutional aid and scholarships is preferred, along with at least one year of experience in an educational setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Thorough understanding of federal and state aid regulations.
- Familiarity with higher education financial aid services and programs.
- Proficiency in Ellucian Colleague, Windows, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally with students, parents, faculty, and colleagues.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Capacity to work effectively with a diverse student population.
This position typically requires light work, with occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds. The role involves sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods in an office or classroom environment.
