Position Overview:
As a key contributor to the financial operations within the Marine Corps, you will provide expert analysis and support for budgetary processes related to Maritime Expeditionary Warfare (MExW). Your role will be crucial in ensuring effective financial planning and execution aligned with operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the forecasting of programmatic requirements for future Marine Air Ground Task Force operations.
- Assist in the creation of timelines for Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) relevant to MExW platforms.
- Contribute to the formulation of Program Objective Memorandum (POM) goals for both current and upcoming fiscal years.
- Engage in the identification and analysis of POM gaps.
- Facilitate portfolio management associated with MExW and Programming Codes.
- Help in the preparation and response to urgent budgetary requests, including risk assessments for funding adjustments.
- Assist in defining equipment deployment strategies and their financial implications.
- Prepare comprehensive briefing materials using Microsoft Office tools to communicate PPBE requirements and their potential impacts effectively.
Additional Duties:
- Contribute to the publication of the MExW Annual Report.
- Compile and submit monthly progress reports to management.
- Manage travel documentation and reporting as necessary.
- Complete all mandated annual training requirements.
Education and Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field, accompanied by a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or
- 15 years of substantial experience in Financial/Budget Analysis in lieu of a degree.
- Bachelor of Science in Financial/Budget Analysis.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to operate effectively within a military staff environment, coordinating across Navy and Marine Corps levels.
- Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment:
- Office-based role, collaborating with a diverse group of military, civilian, and contractor personnel.
- Potential for remote work arrangements based on client coordination.
Physical Requirements:
- Primarily sedentary work, with occasional requirements to assist in moving office equipment.
- Accommodations available for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Work Schedule: Full-time position, typically Monday through Friday.
License and Clearance:
- Valid U.S. Driver's License required.
- Must possess an active U.S. Secret level security clearance.
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to various facilities may be necessary.
