Position Overview:
Edgesource is currently in search of a proficient Systems Engineer specializing in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) for projects centered around cloud-based software development. This role requires collaboration with various technical teams to design and sustain MBSE architectures, translating complex technical concepts into effective system designs. The position provides an opportunity to be involved in the entire lifecycle of DevSecOps designs, encompassing development, testing, and operational deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and sustain architectures for intricate cloud-based software systems
  • Modify existing system designs to accommodate new requirements and use cases
  • Generate model-based systems engineering artifacts for a variety of products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system functionalities and design components
  • Support the project lifecycle from initial planning to operational readiness
  • Break down complex designs into comprehensible components for further development
Essential Qualifications:
  • Possession of an active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Strong foundation in model-based systems engineering
  • Proficiency in SysML diagramming tools (e.g., Cameo System Modeler, IBM Rhapsody)
  • Experience in leading technical design discussions with stakeholders
  • Capability to create and uphold requirements baselines throughout the product lifecycle
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities
Preferred Qualifications (Not Mandatory):
  • At least 1 year of experience in model-based systems engineering
  • Familiarity with SysML Modeling Language
  • Understanding of DOD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and/or Unified Architectural Framework (UAF)
  • Experience with DOD programs
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps for cloud-based software
  • Acquaintance with Agile development methodologies
