Quality Assurance Inspector for Steel Production

As a Quality Assurance Inspector, your primary role will be to ensure that our steel products adhere to established quality standards. You will be responsible for evaluating steel that has undergone our galvanization process. Your key responsibilities will include reviewing shipments of finished products, measuring the specifications of randomly selected items from each production batch, and providing training to team members to enhance production quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting inspections of outgoing shipments using industry-standard methods, including comparisons to specifications and quality assessments.
  • Measuring the thickness of zinc coatings on finished products.
  • Evaluating materials for the quality of zinc coatings.
  • Auditing materials to ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements, such as packaging and coating thickness.
  • Documenting inspection outcomes by completing reports, summarizing reworks and waste, and entering data into the quality management system.
  • Training production staff on quality control practices to enhance product excellence.
  • Utilizing hand tools as necessary to make adjustments to materials.
  • Identifying the root causes of product defects and reworks.
  • This position requires hands-on work in outdoor environments.
Qualifications

Required Skills
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience operating forklifts.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Self-sufficient and self-motivated with a proactive approach to work tasks.
  • Demonstrated initiative and a sense of urgency in addressing responsibilities.
  • Basic proficiency in computer skills.
Preferred Skills
  • High School Diploma or GED.
