Position Summary — The Commercial Security Technician will deliver locksmith services while also providing exceptional customer service and facilitating product sales to clients. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, including a one-hour lunch break.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and manage key systems, including grand master key systems, master key systems, and high-security options.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with lock cores and locksets.
  • Maintain accurate records and adhere to manufacturer security protocols.
  • Perform key duplication and cutting using key codes and machinery.
  • Conduct lock repairs, troubleshooting, and installations.
  • Collaborate with team members across departments to ensure timely delivery and installation of materials.
  • Assist customers who visit or contact the service desk.
  • Address commercial door hardware issues in the field.
  • Uphold all core values of APTURA Group.
  • Support special projects and undertake additional duties as assigned.

Essential Competencies:
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Solid understanding of door hardware and locking mechanisms.
  • Experience in locksmithing and pinning.
  • Familiarity with access control systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Capability to kneel, crouch, and stoop.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for grasping, twisting, and pulling.
  • Extended periods of computer usage and monitor viewing.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with customers and suppliers.
  • Ability to reach overhead and climb ladders.
  • Regularly lift or move items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the commercial door and hardware sector is required.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and background check is necessary.
  • A valid driver's license is required, along with approval from our insurance provider.
