Job Description:

In the US Army, we're seeking a highly skilled Lead Child and Youth Program Assistant to join our team. As a member of our Child and Youth Services (CYS) program, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and youth at Fort Leavenworth Child Development Center.

This is a Regular Full-Time position with a minimum work week of 40 hours and eligibility for benefits. The estimated annual salary for this position is $52,000 - $62,000, depending on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise children and youth ranging in age from 6 weeks to 18 years during daily schedules of indoor and outdoor activities and on field trips, outings, and special events.
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct activities for program participants based on observed needs of individual children and youth.
  • Prepare and implement program options for children and youth with special requirements.
Requirements:

To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

Additionally, candidates must have one of the following credentials directly related to the age group of the position to which assigned:

  • Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential,
  • Military School Age Credential,
  • Army Youth Practicum, or other nationally recognized Youth Development Credential.
