Job Summary: Adventist HealthCare seeks a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Silver Spring, Maryland. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient distribution of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform drug distribution, medication preparation, compounding, dose calculation, and quality control according to USP 797 and 800 standards.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of medications and supplies by performing inventory management cycle counts and patient care unit inspections.
  • Prepare and deliver medication to patient care units and restock automated dispensing units.
  • Assess need for and prepare prepackaged oral solid and liquid medications for dispensing.
  • Perform Medication History assessments.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED/equivalent required.
  • Licensure as Pharmacy Technician by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy required.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required.
  • At least 2 years work experience in a pharmacy specifically using aseptic technique compliant with USP 797 and 800; working knowledge of USP 795 required.
  • Graduation from an ASHP accredited or PTCB recognized Pharmacy Technician Training Program preferred.
  • Previous experience with Cerner, Pyxis, Pharmogistics, Carousels preferred.

Work Schedule:
Five 8 hour Rotating shifts Evening, Nights and Weekends
