Job Summary

The Lead Nursing Professional - Patient Care Coordinator will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care to assigned patients on a Nursing Unit, while supervising other qualified staff members. This role requires a fully competent practitioner of nursing with strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Promote a safe and therapeutic environment by implementing hospital policies and procedures and identifying potential safety risks.
  • Perform in-depth assessments using advanced knowledge and skills, anticipating subtle shifts in patient status and responding promptly.
  • Demonstrate emotional intelligence, empathy, and self-awareness, creating a collaborative work environment and promoting positive conflict resolution.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, adapting language to fit the audience's level and following up regularly.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, adhering to hospital, regulatory, and legal requirements, and staying up-to-date with evidence-based practices.
Requirements:
  • Maine Registered Nurse License or eligibility to obtain.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS highly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Working Conditions:
  • Lifting, moving, and loading 30 to 50 pounds.
  • Alternate shift schedules (day, evening, nights, weekends).
