We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Banquet Server to provide exceptional service to our members and guests. As a Banquet Server, you will be responsible for ensuring that every event is executed flawlessly, from setup to cleanup.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Setup: Assist in setting up banquet facilities, including tables, chairs, linens, and decorations.
  • Guest Service: Provide attentive and courteous service to all guests, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Beverage Service: Take beverage orders and serve food in specified stations, pouring and refilling wine, coffee, water, and other beverages as needed.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean all assigned work areas in the kitchen and banquet areas, including emptying ashtrays and clearing dishes.
  • Communication: Advise the supervisor of any member or guest complaints as soon as they occur and assist in resolving issues.
  • Event Closing: Assist in closing functions by performing various tasks, such as removing linen, busing glasses, dishes, silverware, etc., and re-setting the room for the next function.
  • Teamwork: Attend staff meetings, including pre-service (line-up) sessions, and collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all state and local laws and club policies and procedures for serving alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
  • Customer Service: Thank members and guests and invite them to return, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Consistently follow all sanitation-related requirements, including those related to personal hygiene.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Complete other appropriate assignments made by the Banquet Captain or Director of Catering.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 19 years of age for alcoholic beverage service.
  • Minimum of 2 years of banquet or serving experience preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to effectively learn to use a Point of Sale System.
  • Ability to print and speak simple phrases and sentences.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Competencies:

Ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
