Job Overview

This is a temporary role that will last 4-6 months, requiring a skilled Mechanical Construction Manager to oversee industrial construction projects from start to finish. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, design consultants, subcontractors, and engineers to ensure projects are executed in accordance with contract documents, design specifications, and high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage mechanical process and equipment setting activities for industrial construction projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.
  • Develop and maintain project budget, cost/change order management, accounting records, and work plan procedures, including estimating and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, vendors, and customers to exchange and communicate review comments, incorporating required conditions and specifications into the plan and execution.
  • Coordinate and monitor schedule updates, staffing needs, invoices, and submittals, communicating project status with the Project Team and customer on a regular basis.
  • Develop the sequence of activities for contractors in their work areas and direct subcontractors engaged in execution planning and work procedures.
  • Resolve problems, including work procedures and construction or design issues, ensuring safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and all safety codes are met in construction.
  • Effectively collaborate with others to deliver a quality product on schedule and within budget.
Requirements
  • At least 7 years of related experience in industrial construction projects, with strong problem-solving and communication skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Experience working with manufacturing customers in a variety of settings, preferably construction sites for chemical and advanced material manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, P&IDs, flow diagrams, process data sheets, and to identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents.
  • Familiarity with engineering and construction drawings, data sheets, specifications, and their approval process.
  • Working experience in process construction (equipment installation, process piping, process mechanical, E&I, and utilities).
  • Experience working on an industrial building project including civil, concrete, steel, MEP, and FP is a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge and skill of Microsoft Office products for business application, including MS Project.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our small-firm culture in the construction engineering field is expected.
