Role Summary:
The National Yard Operations Manager, under the guidance of the Head of Operations, USA, is responsible for enhancing and managing efficient yard operations throughout DOKA USA stockyards. This pivotal role encompasses logistics, reconditioning, pre-assembly, hydraulics, machinery, and inventory oversight, with a strong emphasis on on-site engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and rectify inefficiencies in yard processes.
  • Collaborate with Branch Operations to formulate their One-Year Plans (OYP), translating them into actionable yard operations objectives using SMART criteria.
  • Lead national initiatives such as "Always Inventory Ready" and "Accelerated Return Processing," while monitoring application usage KPIs and supporting the National Operations Team in digitalization efforts.
  • Conduct monthly evaluations of branch quality through self-checks and audits, ensuring adherence to high material quality standards.
  • Identify and advocate for product portfolio enhancements and support decisions regarding organizational divestment.
  • Educate yard operations and logistics teams on the fundamentals of DISCOS, highlighting the relationship between physical movements and system entries for optimal inventory management.
  • Facilitate compliance with DOKA SOPs across branches, including adjustments and material cycle counts.
  • Travel to various branch locations to oversee reconditioning, return processing, and order fulfillment as required.
  • Encourage budget consciousness in YOP decision-making processes.
  • Monitor pre-assembly production metrics across branches and maintain a centralized database for improved capacity planning.
  • Manage the Certify Welder Program, ensuring quality and process standards are upheld.
  • Provide insights and data for Operational Jour Fixe discussions, advocating for the needs of DOKA USA YOP in leadership forums.
  • Create a recurring task list for YOP leadership and mentor branches based on their operational maturity.
  • Oversee directives from Group Management related to process modifications and material quality.
  • Maintain records for forklift and truck fleets, contributing to investment planning.
  • Collaborate with the Safety Manager USA to ensure all personnel are adequately trained and certified for equipment operation and task execution, reinforcing a strong safety culture.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Willingness to travel extensively, with potential for extended stays at branch locations to assist with material management.
  • Engage in facility and equipment management meetings as necessary.
  • Contribute to various projects and committees as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; a degree in Engineering, Economics, or Business is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in the industrial, commercial, construction, or building material sectors is essential.
  • Proven capability to work autonomously and deliver results with minimal oversight.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills, adept at navigating a dynamic work environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Comprehensive understanding of building and safety codes, including OSHA regulations.
  • Flexibility to lead teams and engage in hands-on tasks as necessary.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a strong command of English; proficiency in Spanish and German is beneficial.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to learn new products, concepts, and techniques.
