Job Overview

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.

Experience Level:

No prior experience required.

Work Schedule:

7 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday (flexible hours available).

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, the selected candidate will engage in various projects aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency of the organization. This role demands a proactive approach, strong analytical skills, and self-assurance.

SKILL SET:
- Development and execution of strategic initiatives
- Project oversight and management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ProE Die Design, and Six Sigma methodologies
- Understanding of fundamental Heat Treating and Mechanical Testing principles
- Strong analytical skills

EFFORT REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated leadership qualities, customer-focused mindset, initiative, willingness to take risks, confidence, and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Minimize steel consumption, optimize stock sizes, reduce lead times, and decrease scrap rates
- Implement technological advancements in manufacturing processes
- Formulate and execute strategies for Robotics integration
- Enhance plant operational velocity
- Decrease paper usage through digitization initiatives
- Improve time estimation processes
- Identify and eliminate inefficiencies
- Conduct research and development on materials and processes
- Recommend industry best practices
- Engage in product development initiatives
- Lower energy consumption
- Develop strategies for plant expansion projects

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Bright and clean office setting with occasional visits to the manufacturing floor
- Possible exposure to noise while working in a manufacturing environment.
