About This Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team at Seaside Veterinary Hospital. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Perform patient examinations, including auscultation of heart and lung sounds, and determine normal/abnormal TPRs and QATS.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, obtaining medical histories and symptoms, and providing professional education on animal care and health.
  • Conduct laboratory procedures, including hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecals.
  • Assist with diagnostic imaging and implement safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for staff and patients.
  • Participate in surgical assisting, preparing and maintaining the surgical environment to ensure asepsis and patient safety.
  • Monitor anesthesia and perform endotracheal intubation as needed.
  • Provide nursing care, including restraining patients, administering medications, applying and maintaining bandages, and meeting the physical and psychological needs of patients during hospitalization or visits.
  • Perform dental prophylaxis and maintain pharmacy and pharmacology knowledge, including preparing and dispensing medications, calculating dosages, and recognizing adverse reactions.
Requirements
  • Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT).
  • Flexible schedule, including some weekend and vacation shifts.
  • Strong communication skills, good judgment, and ability to manage stressful situations.
