As a Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner, PRN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in the operating room and other medical settings. Your expertise and compassion will make a significant difference in the lives of our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide general surgical assistant services in the operating room, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
- Assist the surgeon with prepping and completing procedures, demonstrating a strong understanding of surgical protocols.
- Remove drains, tubes, and other medical devices as needed, showcasing your attention to detail and ability to work efficiently.
- Closely assist with patient office visits and assume call responsibilities when assigned, demonstrating your commitment to patient care and communication.
- Perform all charting, summaries, correspondence, and required paperwork to document care and billing, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Participate in physician educational programs provided by the employer, staying up-to-date on the latest medical advancements and best practices.
- Contribute to the establishment of quality assurance programs, utilization management programs, and management information systems, demonstrating your ability to think critically and contribute to process improvements.
- Assist in the development of operational and capital budgets, showcasing your financial acumen and ability to think strategically.
- Participate in operational assessments to identify revenue enhancement opportunities, expense reductions, and billing opportunities, demonstrating your analytical skills and ability to drive business results.
- Assist in post-operative care of patients, including daily rounds and wound assessments, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
- Master's Degree in Nursing or Nurse Practitioner Degree Emphasis or Program Certificate equivalent.
- 1 year of clinical experience.
- SC Nurse Practitioner certification.
- CPR certification.
- In lieu of the minimum requirements, completion of a Nurse Practitioner Surgical Residency Program.
This is a non-management role that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring strong communication and teamwork skills.
