Position Summary:

The Collections Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the financial health of our organization. This position will be responsible for providing day-to-day collection activities, overseeing Accounts Receivable balances, identifying overdue accounts, and leading collection and recovery efforts through research, effective communication, and positive resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor accounts to identify overdue payments and take proactive measures to encourage timely debt payments.
  • Communicate with clients to arrange payment and resolve billing and customer credit issues.
  • Keep accurate records and report on collection activity and accounts receivable status.
  • Investigate historical data for each debt or bill to identify potential issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in evaluating KPI performance around collection efforts and identify areas for process improvement.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a customer service role, with prior experience in collections or a similar role preferred.
  • Previous experience with Maxio (SaaS Optics) and NetSuite is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of billing procedures and laws governing debt collection practices.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with clients and colleagues effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and research skills, with the ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Excellent work ethic and dependability, with a commitment to excellence and high standards.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This role requires the ability to maintain a stationary and upright position regularly, with regular movement within the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and other resources. The employee must be able to convey information and concepts effectively for mutual understanding and possess the capability to share precise details during interactions.
