About Project Kuiper
Project Kuiper is an ambitious initiative aimed at deploying a network of Low Earth Orbit satellites to deliver high-speed, low-latency broadband connectivity to underserved and unserved communities globally. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded software using modern programming languages such as Rust, C, and C++.
- Create device drivers and system applications for various satellite systems.
- Develop software for interaction with microcontrollers.
- Collaborate closely with software and hardware teams to facilitate board bring-up and integration testing.
Export Control Requirement
In compliance with applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents (i.e., current Green Card holders), or individuals lawfully admitted into the U.S. as refugees or granted asylum.

About the Team
Our team is responsible for numerous critical satellite functions, including power management, hardware interfaces, command and telemetry, and autonomous control. We seek an exceptional software engineer to engage in all stages of software development, from requirements gathering through implementation and testing to operational deployment.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience, excluding internships.
- At least 2 years of experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
- Over 3 years of experience in the complete software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.

Compensation
Our compensation reflects the labor costs across various U.S. geographic markets. The base salary for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is determined by several factors, including market location, and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon offers a comprehensive total compensation package, which may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
