Role Overview:
The Premium Accounting Clerk II plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely and precise application of premiums for all individual and group policies at Globe Life. This position also involves specialized payment applications, including add-on payments and electronic transactions from financial institutions. The clerk will be tasked with various reporting and reconciliation duties as assigned, making informed decisions based on the information and policies set forth by the Premium Accounting Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research and apply payments for both individual and group policies, utilizing advanced analytical skills to ensure accuracy.
- Perform daily balancing and reporting tasks.
- Review and resolve electronic payment transactions from financial institutions.
- Manage daily bank draft balancing and troubleshooting.
- Analyze transactional data and execute necessary entries for account reconciliations.
- Address and resolve discrepancies noted in the consolidated error log.
- Process add-on requests and payments efficiently.
- Administer system duties for Premium Processing software, ImageRPS.
- Support the Premium Accounting Clerk I as required.
Essential Skills:
- Proficient operation of a 10-key calculator.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- General understanding of accounting principles, including familiarity with general ledger entries.
- Detail-oriented with the capability to conduct complex research across multiple systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills along with effective written and verbal communication.
- All employees of Globe Life & Accident and its subsidiaries are expected to demonstrate reliable and predictable attendance for their assigned shifts.
- Ability to work full-time or part-time as required by the position.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Associate or Bachelor's degree.
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
- Experience in the insurance industry is advantageous.
