Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at North Carolina Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat, a Duke Health Practice. As a key member of our outpatient clinic network, you will work in collaboration with attending physicians to provide high-quality patient care services.

Responsibilities
  • Provide timely patient access for new and established patient visits, including pre-scheduled appointments, urgent and non-urgent add-ons, and appointments made at the request of another provider to provide continuity of care.
  • Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, record the data in the patient's record and write thorough progress notes.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including nasal endoscopy, nasopharyngoscopy, laryngoscopy, epistaxis control, biopsies, microscopic ear examination and debridement, suture removal and wound management.
  • Order laboratory studies and diagnostic imaging, and interpret diagnostic test results, including audiograms, MRI, CT, lab results, culture results, and pathology results.
  • Prescribe necessary treatment, both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic, and make appropriate medical referrals when indicated.
Requirements
  • Nurse Practitioners: Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, with a Master's degree in Nursing, and current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina.
  • Physician Assistants: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program, with a Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree strongly preferred, and licensure in the state of NC, and certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
