Position Overview

This is a contractual, on-site opportunity for a Forensic Nurse Specialist at Brave Alliance Mission. In this capacity, the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner will engage with individuals who have experienced sexual or physical trauma, undertaking the collection and documentation of evidence, conducting medical forensic assessments, and providing empathetic care. The Nurse Examiner will collaborate with law enforcement and other healthcare providers to ensure patient welfare and facilitate the effective resolution of cases.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Certification in Forensic Nursing or as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) is mandatory, or a commitment to obtain certification within six months of employment
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience in an emergency department, urgent care, labor and delivery, or a similar setting is essential (experience in trauma care is preferred)
  • Capability to manage sensitive circumstances while upholding confidentiality regarding private information
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with a focus on compassionate interaction with patients from varied backgrounds, and effective collaboration with other healthcare professionals
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to accurately document information and possess robust analytical skills
  • Knowledge of pertinent legal and medical protocols, regulations, and laws related to sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
