We are seeking a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Doctors Care/UCI Medical Affiliates, Inc. This role is responsible for preparing patients for their physician visit by taking vitals, documenting vital information into the EMR system, and assisting with patient services duties at the front desk, including taking phone calls, updating patient demographics, and offering outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for their physician visit by taking vitals and documenting vital information into the EMR system.
- Assist with patient services duties at the front desk, including taking phone calls, updating patient demographics, and offering outstanding customer service.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including demographic information and medical history.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assisting certificate or Associate's degree in medical assisting preferred.
- Current Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant certification, or 2+ years of current experience working as a Medical Assistant in lieu of certification.
- Computer skills and knowledge of basic medical terminology required; experience with EMR software a plus.
- Healthcare Provider CPR certification and training in OSHA/HIPAA compliance required.
- Ability to work 12 hour shifts, weekends, and holidays; willingness to work at other centers as needed.
