Job Summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacist PRN to join our team. As a key member of our pharmacy staff, you will play a vital role in providing patient-centered medication management and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of medications prior to issuance.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, compound, and dispense medications in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Verify the accuracy and appropriateness of all completed/filled medication orders.
  • Prepares, checks, and ensures accurate preparation of sterile products by pharmacy technicians following proper aseptic and cytotoxic technique.
  • Utilize nomograms and other departmental guidelines when providing medication-related recommendations.
  • Prevent and/or resolve drug-related problems through consultations with the ordering prescriber and appropriately documents interventions.
  • May oversee the work performed by pharmacy students, interns, and/or technicians to ensure that performance standards are maintained and that work is accurate and precise in accordance with state, federal and organizational regulations.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure in Georgia.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
  • One year of hospital experience preferred.
  • OR New graduate who is under contract through the Emory tuition program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PGY1 residency with skill set to advance to Clinical Pharmacist II.
Compensation and Benefits

The Pharmacist PRN Salary is $64.25/hour (flat rate). This position is eligible for shift differentials.
