Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Clinical Research Scientist to join our team at Abbott Vascular. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for the initiation, design, development, execution, and implementation of scientific research projects.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential technologies, materials, processes, and products.
- Plan and execute laboratory research to prove the feasibility of concepts.
- Maintain substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories and contribute to scientific literature and conferences.
- Participate in intellectual property evaluations and development of patent applications.
- Consult and interact with outside and inside experts.
- May coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts.
- Write and submit professional articles for technical journals.
- Establish and cultivate an extensive network of support to facilitate the completion of assignments.
- Participate in the development of less experienced staff by setting an example, providing guidance and work direction, and offering counsel.
- May lead a project team.
- Participate in determining goals and objectives for projects.
- Influence middle management on technical or business solutions.
- May interact with vendors.
- Plan and organize non-routine tasks with approval.
- Initiate or maintain work schedule.
- Establish priorities of work assignments.
- Exercise judgment in selecting innovative, practical methods to achieve problem resolution.
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of related work experience with a basic understanding of specified functional area, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum Experience / Training Required: Wide application of technical principles, practices, and procedures. Strong understanding of business unit function and cross-group dependencies/relationships.
