POSITION:
Retail Sales Associate

COMPENSATION: $14.50 per hour

WORK SCHEDULE: Part-time hours

(Work hours may vary based on operational needs.)

Role Summary

Engage in activities within a retail environment, including suggestive selling and merchandising of bakery and biscuit products. Play a vital role in enhancing net sales, bakery sales, and average transaction value while delivering exceptional customer service. Ensure smooth store operations in the absence of management.

Key Responsibilities: Building the Business

Productivity

Acquire comprehensive knowledge of all products and procedures. Proactively suggest products to every customer. Complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately.

Customer Engagement

Follow established customer service protocols. Initiate conversations with customers and promote products. Adhere to the company's dress code.

Merchandising Standards

Maintain effective merchandising strategies for all products. Ensure proper pricing and presentation of merchandise. Execute proper receiving, rotation, and stocking of shipments. Handle distributor returns appropriately.

Store Operations

Safeguard company assets by adhering to security protocols. Execute store opening and closing procedures. Operate cash register and manage cash handling. Maintain cleanliness in sales and stock areas. Manage distributor returns effectively.

Qualifications

General education degree or equivalent experience. Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions and correspondence. Proficient in basic math skills. Capable of following detailed instructions.

Physical Requirements

The following physical demands may be required during a typical week in the retail environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Receive, sort, and stock deliveries regularly. Rotate products as needed.

Job Analysis:

Lifting/Carrying: as follows:

Bread: max. 20 lbs. - 26% of tasks

Biscuit: max lbs. - 50% of tasks

Miscellaneous Products: max lbs. - 11% of tasks

Pushing/Pulling: as follows:

Bread: stacked 10 high - max. 200 lbs., distance of 30-40 ft.

Biscuit: max lbs, distance variable.

Frozen: max lbs, distance variable.

Miscellaneous Products: max. 100 lbs, distance variable.

Body Movements:

Frequent bending, reaching, and squatting.

Occasional balancing, climbing, and kneeling.

Environment: predominantly indoors.

Compensation: The starting rate for this part-time position is $14.50 per hour.
