Medical Instrumentation Quality Assurance Specialist

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a Medical Instrumentation Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Sterile Processing department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and proper assembly of instrument trays.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in Sterile Processing and be certified in SPD, Level II Tech. A High School Diploma or Surgical Technologist degree is also required. Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor's Degree and CIS certification.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining review kits for accuracy and instrument functionality
  • Ensuring every kit is audited and entered into the database
  • Identifying trends in kit errors and reporting findings from SPM collation to monthly staff meetings
  • Providing immediate feedback to assemblers and coaching staff when gaps arise
  • Recognizing staff that are unreceptive to feedback and reporting findings and trends

Additional responsibilities include reviewing and inspecting case carts for accuracy and completeness, creating a missing/priority list to complete case carts, accurately reporting discrepancies, and supporting enterprise programs for quality assurance needs.
