Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Imaging Intern Tech Assistant- IR and Cath Lab to join our team at Unavailable. As a key member of our Radiology and Cath Lab department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our team of technologists.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as a liaison to assure prompt professional service and greets patients as they arrive or while in transport to the Radiology Department.
  • Ensures each patient is comfortable and informs patients that a Technologist will be right with them.
  • Answers patient's questions and assists with patient scheduling as required.
  • Transports patients as needed and provides safe and efficient transport of patients and ensures that hand off communication is both obtained and provided.
  • Assists register technologist in general patient care and observation, performs other duties as assigned, and assists with moving/dressing patients and assist registered tech with procedures.
  • Observes patients during procedures and reports any changes in condition to register technologist.
  • Performs BLS/CPR as needed and assigns are performed as specified.
  • Answers phones, delivers messages and assures patient confidentiality while communicating in a professional manner.
  • Greets patients, enters orders and dispatches request in a timely manner and retrieves, distributes and scans patient records in an accurate/timely manner while assuring patient confidentiality.
  • Prepares imaging/procedure rooms prior to procedures under the supervision of a Radiologic technologist and maintains adequate stock of supplies and equipment in assigned room or area.
  • Ensures that the Technologist have filled in and initialed all appropriate information on patient documentation prior to scanning and performs required PACS and office/clerical duties and procedure documentation.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent and accepted into an accredited school for Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
  • BLS/CPR for health care provider in adult, child, and pediatrics and medical terminology college level course, basic anatomy and physiology college level course, computer literacy, general knowledge of various Radiology procedures and preps, aseptic/isolation techniques, and other health care related courses.
  • Previous health care experience and professional communication skills are required.
  • Ability to follow oral/written instructions, trouble shoot and think logically in stressful or problem solving situations and ability to handle fast paced environment while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
