Dignity Health St. Joseph's Medical Center, in collaboration with Touro University Medical Group, is seeking an Associate Program Director (APD) for our newly established ACGME Accredited Neurology residency program in California. This role is pivotal in our succession planning, providing the next APD with a pathway to advance within our Graduate Medical Education (GME) program and potentially transition into the Program Director role in the future.
Join Our Team:
Become part of a dedicated educational team, including the program director and faculty, committed to our educational and community service mission as we develop California's newest Neurology residency program. We are looking for individuals with leadership skills, a passion for teaching, and an interest in clinical research opportunities.
Key Highlights of the Role:
- Our new neurology program complements nine existing residency programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
- Work within a 355-bed acute care hospital.
- Access to a state-of-the-art educational training facility, featuring simulation labs and advanced classrooms.
- Engage in 75-90% clinical activities, including teaching residents and medical students, with 10-35% protected time.
- Contribute to the establishment of a Comprehensive Stroke Center.
- Expand epilepsy services, including the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.
- Participate in active inpatient consultations and ward services.
- Explore opportunities for both inpatient and outpatient clinical work.
- Engage in clinical neurophysiology, including EEG, EMG, Nerve Conduction Studies, and Evoked Potentials.
- Involvement in scholarly activities in accordance with ACGME requirements.
- Clinical Faculty Track at Touro University, California, with opportunities for rank and promotion based on faculty policy.
Candidate Requirements:
Applicants should be prepared to manage both general neurology cases and patients within their subspecialty. We are particularly interested in fellowship-trained neurologists specializing in:
- Epileptology
- Memory/Neurodegenerative Disorders
- Clinical Neurophysiology
- Neuro-hospitalist
- Neuroimmunology
- Pediatric Neurology
- Neurovascular/Stroke
- Pain Medicine
