Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Safety Officer to join our team at Black Oak Casino Resort. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our guests and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and report on safety and security incidents, including thefts, injuries, and property damage.
  • Patrol the casino property to prevent and respond to security threats.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and employees using a two-way radio and other communication tools.
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on security procedures and protocols.
  • Identify and report potential safety hazards, and take steps to mitigate and resolve them.
  • Ensure the safe transportation of casino monies and gaming assets.
  • Interact with guests and employees in a positive and professional manner, even in difficult situations.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of resort departments, areas, and facilities, as well as special events and promotions.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Military experience preferred.
  • Must be a trained and Certified Professional Collector (CPC) within the introductory period.
  • Ability to read and comprehend documents, including identification cards, safety rules, and operation and maintenance instructions.
  • Must be familiar with Public Safety Department Policies and Procedures, the Emergency Action Plan, and have passed the training program within the introductory period.
  • Ability to write and type reports, documents, and correspondence.
  • Must be able to communicate using a portable 2-way radio and/or cell phone.
  • Must possess working knowledge of computer programs and applications.
  • Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test.
  • Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license.
  • Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Must possess excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Must be able to communicate in English.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position that requires working in a non-smoke-free environment, with potential exposure to infectious disease. You must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events.
