Job Title: Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Veterinary Technician to join our Neurology department at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Golden Valley, MN.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will assist veterinarians with surgical plans and estimates, perform diagnostics, set up patients for surgery, assist with imaging, discharge patients, and handle client communications.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up constant rate infusions (CRI)
  • Calculate medical math, including advanced and CRI
  • Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia
  • Set up for MRI and CT procedures
  • Set up for spinal surgeries
  • Discharge neuro patients from the hospital, including basic client education
  • Provide nursing care to stable patients
  • Perform call backs and refill medications
  • Client education and communication
  • Perform physical exams and vital parameter checks
  • Comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture
  • Operate intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors
  • Restrain patients during consults and diagnostics
Requirements:
  • Minimum of one year experience in a veterinary hospital
  • Specialty experience not required
