Job Overview:

The Office of Court Administration (OCA) is a distinguished state agency within the Judicial Branch, operating under the guidance of the Supreme Court of Texas. Our mission is to deliver resources and information for the effective management of the Judicial Branch of Texas.

Position Summary:

This role entails executing highly complex or advanced systems administration tasks for servers, workstations, and mobile devices. Responsibilities include recommending, testing, implementing, and managing the OCA's technological infrastructure, which encompasses both hardware and software, as well as services such as File and Print, DHCP, Active Directory, DNS, Exchange Online, and Office365. This position also provides Tier III support for servers and workstations, operating with limited supervision and exercising considerable initiative and independent judgment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service consistently, including support for helpdesk staff and proactive communication with management and end users.
  • Keep OCA's Information Services management informed about ongoing issues and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Propose innovations and enhancements to the OCA infrastructure through clear and efficient communication.
  • Respond to incidents and problems, providing guidance in troubleshooting complex software and hardware issues.
  • Utilize vendor support for research and issue resolution.
  • Continuously monitor the OCA infrastructure using various third-party monitoring tools.
  • Collaborate with Information Services team members on technology topics and special projects affecting the OCA infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with the IS team on the implementation and operation of OCA-supported servers, applying industry best practices.
  • Assist in troubleshooting application and service connectivity issues.
  • Support the management and maintenance of Microsoft O365, Exchange, and Teams.
  • Perform all duties with a strong emphasis on process, security, and standardization.
  • Adhere to change management processes and prioritize multiple projects effectively.
  • Utilize PowerShell and Group Policy for efficient account management.
  • Conduct maintenance and troubleshooting of Storage Area Networks and Server clusters.
  • Perform related tasks as necessary.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in computer information systems, computer science, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Experience administering Microsoft servers in a Hyper-V Enterprise environment.
  • Experience managing Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory in an Enterprise environment.
  • Experience administering Office365 in an Enterprise environment.
  • Experience in automating tasks using advanced scripting.
  • Strong understanding of core computing technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft cloud-based security solutions.
  • Experience with SQL Server management and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with current HP server hardware and networking solutions.
  • Experience in a judicial environment.
  • Experience using System Center Configuration Manager and/or Intune.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Active Directory architecture.
  • Ability to learn new technologies independently.
  • Knowledge of systems administration and Internet security.
  • Ability to work efficiently within a change management framework.
