Siegwart German American Law, Inc. is a distinguished boutique legal practice focused on cross-border representation and litigation, particularly in the realm of international law, with an emphasis on German-American inheritance issues.
We are currently seeking an attorney with a minimum of four (4+) years of experience in probate and trust administration, including representation of trustees, executors, and beneficiaries. Familiarity with probate and trust litigation is advantageous. This is a full-time role, although we are open to part-time arrangements for qualified candidates, as the workload can be adjusted accordingly.
Your responsibilities will include representing clients from Germany and German-speaking nations in matters related to decedent estates and trusts, both in and out of probate court in California.
While proficiency in the German language is not a requirement for this position, you will manage estate and trust administration cases from initiation to resolution, advocating for foreign beneficiaries in their claims against personal representatives and trustees in California.
This role offers the chance to engage directly with international clients on a variety of compelling cases within a collaborative and supportive work environment. We are dedicated to fostering your growth and professional development.
Our firm values work-life balance; you will not be required to work evenings or weekends, and our billable hour expectations are below industry standards. Hybrid work options are available once you are established in your role.
The ideal candidate will possess significant experience with estate administration petitions, probate processes, and related legal proceedings, as well as trust administration. Candidates must be in good standing with the State Bar of California. Proficiency in e-filing, familiarity with local Bay Area court regulations, and courtroom experience are essential.
We seek a motivated, detail-oriented, and dependable professional with strong legal research, communication, and teamwork skills.
