Certified Nursing Assistant Job Description

Aperion Care Wilmington is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide exceptional care and support to our residents. As a CNA, you will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, ensuring the health, welfare, and safety of our residents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance with serving meals and feeding residents, ensuring they receive fresh water and nourishment between meals.
  • Assist with personal hygiene, including giving bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves, as well as helping residents with travel to the bathroom and showers.
  • Assist with ambulating, turning, and positioning residents to maintain their stability.
  • Check vital signs and weight, recording intake and output information to ensure resident comfort.
  • Document actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records, while maintaining resident privacy and dignity.
  • Protect patient information by keeping it confidential, complying with HIPAA guidelines and related laws.
  • Adhere to professional standards, company policies, and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining licensure.

Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with the laws of the state of practice.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Long-term care experience preferred.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Physical Demands:

  • Required to sit, stand, bend, and walk regularly, lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Visual and auditory ability sufficient for written and verbal communication.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
