Job Title: Paramedic EMT-P Tuition Reimbursement

At American Ambulance Central Florida, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Paramedic EMT-P to join our team. As a Paramedic EMT-P, you will be responsible for providing emergency and non-emergency ambulance operations, demonstrating excellent driving judgment and regard for public safety during operation and positioning of the unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to all assigned calls in the most appropriate, safe, and efficient manner to quickly assess the scene and request other help if needed.
  • Provide BLS patient care in accordance with established procedures and prescribed local protocols and clinical practices.
  • Diagnose and treat patients with appropriate techniques, resources, and equipment.
  • Provide ALS operations, providing overall care in the areas of patient assessment, packaging, and transport.
  • Complete appropriate medical records and transportation reports.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of current EMT standards of care, including equipment function and use.
  • Comply with safety standards to assure safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment.
  • Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS Representatives, hospitals, and public.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of local geography, including mapping, street, and grid book systems.
  • Maintain units and equipment in a clean, organized, and ready condition after each response.
  • Ensure proper fuel, fluid, and tire pressure levels at all times.
  • Report equipment damage or malfunctions as prescribed.
  • Complete all station duties and maintain crew quarters in lean conditions.
  • Maintain a clean and complete uniform, personal hygiene, and professional, pleasant, and polite demeanor to all persons with whom the individual comes in contact with while on duty.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must be able to communicate and understand English verbally and in writing.
  • Licenses and Certifications:
    • Valid Driver's License.
    • EMT-P.
    • EVOC.
    • ACLS.

Competencies:

  • Competency in Advanced life support skills as defined by State, Medical Director(s), and Medical Standards.
