Child and Adolescent Therapist

Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) is seeking a highly skilled Psychotherapist II to join our Project Heal team, a trauma psychology program dedicated to providing mental health services to children and families affected by traumatic events. As a key member of our team, you will provide psychotherapeutic services to a caseload of patients with complex needs, employing evidence-based treatment interventions and case management services as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and develop treatment plans for patients with acutely complex needs
- Provide psychotherapeutic services to a defined caseload of patients, including individual and group therapy sessions
- Employ evidence-based psychological treatment interventions, such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
- Collaborate with other team members to support access to overall services and facilitate partnerships with external partners
- Conduct intake assessments and evaluations of youth with trauma exposure, and lead group therapy sessions with parents and children
- Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Psychology with previous experience in a child, adolescent, or family mental health setting
- 2+ years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and families, with a focus on trauma-informed care
- Training and experience in treating youth and families who have experienced traumatic events, with a preference for bilingual or bicultural staff
- Valid California Driver's License and proof of insurance for field-based services
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
