POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for directing, managing, and overseeing the comprehensive operations and services of the South Carolina United Methodist Conference in alignment with its mission, vision, and core values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This individual will take on the following responsibilities:

  • Lead the organization in fulfilling its mission and objectives.
  • Oversee all operational aspects and ensure effective service delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors on strategic initiatives and organizational governance.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

A master's degree from an accredited institution is mandatory. A background in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related discipline is highly desirable.

CRITICAL SKILLS:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience in leadership and organizational management.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in marketing and fundraising strategies.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in child welfare, including residential care settings.
  • Experience collaborating with faith-based organizations, particularly within the United Methodist Church.
  • Understanding of child and adolescent development principles.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
