Position Overview:
A skilled professional responsible for producing high-quality radiographic images for medical evaluation and diagnosis.
Exhibit respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in every interaction with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues, regardless of their cultural backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate radiologic equipment safely and efficiently.
- Determine and apply appropriate radiographic exposure settings while minimizing radiation exposure.
- Adhere to safety protocols and comply with medical, state, and federal regulations, demonstrating the necessary knowledge and skills for patient care.
- Exhibit proficiency in all X-ray procedures as ordered, providing diagnostic images for the radiologist's interpretation.
- Utilize computer systems effectively while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Collect and document patient information as required by the medical facility and regulatory bodies, ensuring accurate billing and coding.
- Review images to ensure high quality and assist in quality control and assurance processes as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of radiologic equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
- Education and Credentials:
- Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Current CPR certification.
- ARRT(R) certification or eligibility based on state requirements.
- State Licensure Requirements:
- Kentucky: KBMIRT Radiation Operator's License - Radiography (Temporary or Permanent). Associates must obtain ARRT(R) within 12 months of receiving a Temporary License.
- Indiana: ISDH License - Radiologic Technologist or Radiology Student Permit. Associates must obtain ARRT(R) within 6 months of receiving a Radiology Student Permit.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety for patients and staff.
- Competence in various radiographic techniques, including routine, fluoroscopic, surgical, and trauma imaging.
- Relevant clinical experience from an accredited program.
