Mental Health Professional

As a Mental Health Professional at Kaiser, you will provide assessment and triage, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention services for adult and child members with a range of mental health needs. You will work under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and collaborate with treating primary care providers and allied health professionals to plan and direct each patient's treatment program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Confer with supervisors regarding member progress and treatment, and consult with psychiatrists as needed.
- Provide support to members' families, including explaining treatment, instructing on how to support treatment, and interventions to increase acceptance and adherence to treatment.
- Utilize resources from public and private agencies and community organizations to meet members' treatment needs, including referrals to external resources as appropriate.
- Participate in departmental program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Report safety concerns to mandated reporting agencies.
- Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate clinical treatment programs for members with acute or chronic mental illness.
- Provide outpatient psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
- Instruct and counsel patients and their families on compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens and adherence to prescribed medication regimens.
- Administer specialized therapeutic procedures as needed.
- Prepare intake summaries, treatment plans, and case summaries, and maintain ongoing confidential records.
- Chart members' treatment and progress in accordance with Kaiser Permanente, state, and NCQA regulations and accepted community standards.
Requirements:
- Masters degree in Social Work, Social Welfare, Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or related field required.
- Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (California) or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor Registration (California) or Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker (California) required.
- Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous clinical responsibility, including crisis intervention and individual and group psychotherapy.
- Demonstrated professional maturity and ethical integrity.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality of service, teamwork, and participation in a highly interactive multidisciplinary clinic.
- Demonstrated ability to complete multiple tasks/objectives in a timely manner.
