Position Overview:

The Aquatic Safety Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all patrons within the aquatic facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain vigilant observation of the entire aquatic environment to prevent accidents.
  • Administer first aid and life-saving measures when required.
  • Uphold and communicate all aquatic facility rules and regulations to patrons.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the aquatic area, reporting any hazardous conditions or equipment to the designated supervisor.
  • Ensure the cleanliness, organization, and overall maintenance of the aquatic facilities.
  • Regularly test, adjust, and document chemical levels for pools and hot tubs.
  • Maintain a fitness level suitable for the demands of the position, including swimming proficiency, strength, and endurance.
  • Keep all necessary certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR current.
  • Participate in all required training sessions, meetings, and updates.
  • Be available to work a minimum of 10-15 hours weekly.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Aquatics Supervisor.

Safety Sensitive Position:

This role is classified as a Safety Sensitive Position under applicable regulations. Employees must remain free from substances that could impair their ability to ensure the safety of patrons.

Qualifications:

Must possess a current Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR for the Professional certification. A minimum of one year of experience in a lifeguarding role is preferred.
