Speech Language Pathologist PRN Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Texas Health Resources. As a Speech Language Pathologist PRN, you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with communication and swallowing disorders.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform age-appropriate patient assessments and establish plans of care
  • Obtain and verify physician orders for therapy and validate for appropriateness
  • Review available medical records and obtain pertinent medical history from patients or families
  • Evaluate each patient using age and diagnosis-appropriate assessment tests and measurements
  • Integrate assessment results to identify functional problems and prioritize care needs with patients and families
  • Set appropriate, measurable, functional goals with time frames to address identified problems
  • Determine plans for care and/or appropriate therapeutic interventions to achieve stated goals
  • Initiate therapy discharge planning in collaboration with care teams and patients based on prognosis and expected discharge disposition
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology or other post-baccalaureate degree recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
  • Texas Speech Language Pathology License upon hire
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) strongly preferred
