Speech Language Pathologist Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Texas Health Resources. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with communication and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform age-appropriate patient assessments and establish plans of care
  • Obtain and verify physician orders for therapy and validate for appropriateness
  • Demonstrate competence in performing age-appropriate patient assessments and individualize care based on age-specific needs
  • Perform age-appropriate patient treatment using therapeutic techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment
  • Motivate non-compliant or unmotivated patients to participate in therapy
  • Demonstrate professional accountability and utilize available resources to maximize efficiency and productivity
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or other post-baccalaureate degree recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
  • SLP - Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License upon hire
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • CCC-SLP - Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (strongly preferred)
