Join Our Team as a Sr. Materials Industrialization Engineer, Polymers

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Materials Industrialization Engineer, Polymers to join our team at Lucid Motors. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for industrializing polymer and composite materials and processes across different commodities during and after vehicle development programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible as subject matter expert in industrializing polymer/composite materials and processes across different commodities during and after vehicle development programs.
  • Support cross-functional teams in in-depth understanding of the manufacturing process, tooling material performance, and optimization plan to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Standardize Lucid Qualification Process (LQP) for polymers and plastics commodities.
  • Partner closely with the supplier industrialization team, engineering, production, and other stakeholders on root cause investigating materials-related issues and continuous improvement with the suppliers.
  • Provide insight into future chances and obstacles for streamlining processes; suggest strategies for innovative and cost-efficient solutions.
  • Conduct on-demand supplier process audits to assess technical capabilities in delivering best-in-class materials and highly efficient processes.
  • Supporting supplier industrialization engineering team in launch activities and change implementations.
  • Collaborate in DFMEA, DVPR, DFQ/DFM reviews and validation as subject matter expert.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Polymer engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields required. Advanced degree highly preferred.
  • 5+ years industrial experience in polymer/plastics manufacturing or processing environment. Automotive industry experience is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of polymers and composite, manufacturing processes, tooling validation, and testing methods.
  • Experience in developing plastic processing parameters.
  • Proven experience in leading complex development programs is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of statistical process control, data analysis, and data-driven decision making.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and strong ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability and desire to work in a high-paced work environment is highly valued.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the work schedule.
