We are seeking a skilled Transportation Specialist to join our team at Brenham Independent School District. As a Non-CDL Driver, you will be responsible for operating a 12-passenger bus and other white fleet vehicles to provide safe and orderly transportation for students and authorized personnel.
Key Responsibilities- Operate buses and vehicles safely and effectively, adhering to established schedules and routes.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and notify supervisors of needed repairs.
- Report accidents, incidents, and mechanical problems, and complete required reports.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including bus mileage, gas and oil consumption, and passenger transportation data.
- Supervise students while boarding and exiting the vehicle, and instruct them on safe riding rules and regulations.
- Perform emergency evacuations and observe all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Clear and valid Texas driver's license
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to pass alcohol and drug tests, agility test, and annual physical
- Ability to complete required bus driver safety training
- Effective communication skills and ability to manage student behavior
This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and the ability to maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional districtwide and statewide travel may be required.
BenefitsThis position offers a competitive hourly rate of $17.50.
