We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized medical biller and coder to join our team at MET Healthcare Solutions. As a key member of our billing and coding team, you will play a crucial role in reviewing and accurately coding consultations for reimbursement, as well as managing account receivable processes.
Key Responsibilities- Chart Review and Coding: Receive and review patient charts and documents for completion and accuracy, ensuring that all necessary information is present and up-to-date.
- Reimbursement and Compliance: Properly code all patient charts and submit to the appropriate party for reimbursement in a timely manner, adhering to federal and state regulations.
- Document Management: Update and maintain document lists, ensuring that all records are accurate and easily accessible.
- Coding and Compliance: Ensure proper coding on provider documentation, following established guidelines and regulations.
- Payment and Rebuttal Management: Post payments and respond to first and second-level rebuttals in a timely manner, resolving any issues promptly.
- Collection and Follow-up: Conduct collection calls on unpaid claims, following up with patients and providers as necessary.
- Additional Duties: Perform additional duties assigned by the Department Manager as needed, supporting the team's efforts to deliver exceptional results.
- Education and Certifications: High school degree or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Medical Coding Certificate; CPC or CPMA by AAPC or AHIMA preferred.
- Experience and Skills: Minimum one (1) year of medical billing or coding experience. Understanding of medical terminology required. Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team. Strong computer skills in data entry, coding, and knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Office Suite). Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
