Key Responsibilities- Schedule and Budget Management
Ensure adherence to schedule, budget, and quality requirements in accordance with program specifications.
Team LeadershipEffectively lead and manage a team of Stress Engineers, organizing them to substantiate aircraft designs and generate documentation acceptable to regulatory authorities.
Staff ManagementRecruit, hire, train, and evaluate staff, making recommendations for promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions.
Performance ManagementConduct regular 1:1 discussions, annual performance reviews, and mid-year reviews, with salary adjustments as necessary.
Quality AssuranceEstablish and maintain quality standards for the engineering department, ensuring processes are in place and standards are met for the Stress Engineering discipline.
Training and DevelopmentCoach, train, and mentor Stress Engineers to ensure they are working efficiently and effectively.
Process ImprovementDevelop analytical tools, databases, and workflow procedures to streamline and optimize project support.
Prioritization and Decision-MakingManage multiple priorities and competing tasks, making decisions on task priority and team member assignment.
Collaboration and CommunicationWork closely with other departments to gain consensus on the best approach to addressing engineering issues requiring Stress Team input.
Project ManagementPrepare meeting materials, present status updates, and lead the structural substantiation package to completion.
Planning and SchedulingCreate structural substantiation plans, prepare staffing plans, anticipate critical path issues, and set schedules to meet program requirements.
Bid and Estimation SupportAssist with bids and estimations of costs for new programs.
Attendance and AvailabilityMaintain regular attendance, including being at work, on time, and working full shifts.

Requirements- Education
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Civil, Mechanical, or Aeronautical Engineering.
ExperienceMinimum 8 years of industry experience, with a minimum of 4 years' experience successfully leading a team of engineers, including a proven track record of effective team building and talent development.
Aerospace BackgroundAerospace background required.
US PersonMust qualify as a US Person, defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.
Preferred Qualifications- Technical Skills
Working knowledge of 14 CFR Part 25 Regulations as it pertains to Aircraft Structures, Interiors, Materials, Mechanical Systems, and Payload Systems.
Software ProficiencyProficient with Microsoft Office applications.
Communication and Interpersonal SkillsStrong written and verbal communication and effective presentation skills.
Work EnvironmentThe expected salary range for this position is between $121,000 and $166,441.00 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
