Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in a full-time, day shift position in the Operating Room. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing accurate and efficient diagnostic exams in all areas of general radiology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality diagnostic exams after verifying patient identification and physician orders.
  • Acquire accurate patient histories and document in the medical record.
  • Monitor patients during procedures to ensure patient safety.
  • Perform radiographic and related patient care procedures using age-appropriate methods for patients' physical abilities and limitations.
  • Ensure STAT requests are relayed to radiologists in a timely manner.
  • Effectively communicate with customers, administrative staff, medical staff, and peers on an inter/intra-department level.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating diagnostic imaging equipment and follow policy for any malfunctions or quality control failures.
  • Utilize ALARA standards for minimizing radiation exposure to patients, staff, and self.
  • Provide procedural information/education to patients/families prior to each exam.
  • Contribute to the effective operations of the department by assisting fellow employees and staying in compliance with quality assurance and quality control.
  • Accurately and efficiently use hospital computer systems for verifying orders, viewing schedules, and sending information to PACS.
  • Assist in the training of students/new hires.
  • Ensure equipment is wiped down between patients and exam rooms are clean and properly stocked with linen and supplies.
  • Maintain competency in all assigned areas, including fluoroscopic, general diagnostic, orthopedic, and operating procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited radiography program.
  • Training gained at the student level.
  • CRT-Radiologic Technologist Registration - ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) within 180 days.
  • CRT-Radiographer (R) - ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) upon hire.
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA (American Heart Association) or ARC (American Red Cross) upon hire.
