Nemours Children's Health is seeking a dedicated Patient Services Representative II. This role is pivotal in managing the office operations associated with patient appointments, intake processes, and data management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Welcome patients with professionalism and compassion.
2. Collect and update patient demographic and insurance information while ensuring confidentiality.
3. Schedule and confirm patient appointments efficiently.
4. Secure necessary authorizations and pre-certifications.
5. Document and manage referral processes.
6. Track and follow up on missed appointments and cancellations.
7. Answer phone calls with appropriate etiquette and direct inquiries as needed.
8. Organize and maintain medical records systematically.
9. Register patients, process payments, and accurately document all financial transactions, including cash reconciliation.
10. Order and manage office supplies while maintaining accurate records.
11. Oversee waiting areas and keep patients informed about any delays.
12. Provide guidance to families regarding Medicaid and financial assistance options.
13. Assist in coordinating transportation for patients.
14. Facilitate patient flow within the office.
15. Prepare and distribute office communications.
16. Engage in quality improvement initiatives.
17. File patient charts and related documents, ensuring accurate scanning into the electronic system.
18. Maintain an inventory of supplies and necessary forms.
19. Sort and distribute incoming mail and reports for provider review.
Performance Skills

Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical setting.
- Proficient computer and typing skills are essential.
- Previous clerical experience in a medical office is preferred; familiarity with EPIC is a plus.
